About Dr. Claydon
Gary has a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years in General Practice and Sports Medicine. His areas of specialization include exercise medicine for health and sport, in addition to working with children involved in sports.
Gary has an impressive track record of over 25 years working with Elite Level Sport. Throughout his career, he has been involved in high-profile events such as the Rio Olympics 2016, Tokyo Olympics 2020, Glasgow Commonwealth games 2014 and six separate Hockey World Cups. Gary's experience includes working with various teams such as the Australian National Men's and Women's Hockey teams, Perth Glory Soccer, Western Reds Rugby League, Western Force Rugby Union, AIS soccer and Australian U20 Soccer Team, as well as the World Swimming Championships in Perth. In recognition of his contributions to the field, Gary was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in 2021.
Gary is an exceptional swimmer who has completed 12 Solo Rottnest Swims, including a double crossing. However, his talents don't stop there. He has been a WAGPET supervisor and mentor for 20 years, training future General Practitioners. In addition to his love for education, Gary is also an avid animal lover. He shares his home with a variety of furry and feathered friends, such as dogs, cats, parrots, chickens, and fish.
